On her first day on the job back in 1972, Frieda Saenz declared, “I’m never leaving here!” And she has certainly held true to her word so far. In November of this year, she’ll celebrate 52 years on the job as lead beautician and hairdresser at Jewish Home & Rehab Center.
Our longest-tenured staff member, Frieda is beloved by residents, patients, family members, volunteers, and staff alike. She attends to the personal grooming of our patients and residents in the warm, relaxed atmosphere of the beauty salon, but truly does so much more. She gives patients and residents an enhanced sense of personal dignity and respect, as well as welcome opportunities for social interaction.
The salon is a hub of activity, with people coming together in laughter and camaraderie. “What we do here in the beauty salon,” Frieda says, “is give people energy and make them feel good.”
With every snip of her scissors or setting of a favorite style, Frieda’s invaluable work fills JHRC with beauty and love.
“Frieda is warm-hearted and welcoming. She makes everyone feel important. Her big smile and positive outlook just make you feel good.”
